Giving Tuesday

Tuesday Dec. 1 is Giving Tuesday, and this year the Missouri State Teachers Foundation is asking everyone to Give HOPE! The MSTF HOPE Initiative provides relief to teachers that fall victim to natural disasters. Since 2015 the HOPE Initiative has provided over $12,000 to teachers affected by tornados, floods and fires.

Your support of the HOPE Initiative allows the Missouri State Teachers Foundation to assist teachers in their time of need. Stay in the loop on all the exciting happenings at MSTF by keeping tabs on Facebook and Twitter.

Gifts to MSTF

Gifts to the foundation provide classroom grants and services to teachers and students all over Missouri.

The Missouri State Teachers Foundation was created by the executive board of the Missouri State Teachers Association as a not-for-profit organization, incorporated under the laws of the state of Missouri and approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a public charity. As such, contributions and gifts to the foundation from individuals, firms, associations, and other organizations are tax deductible from both income and estates.

Foundation Grant Builds Community

“The MSTF grant helped me make counseling relevant, fun and interesting for the kids,” says Toni Walton, a counselor in the Fordland R-3 school district.

Walton used the grant to buy puppets for her eighth graders to put on educational programs for elementary students. She also purchased a “Wheel of Careers” for seventh graders and a storytelling apron for second graders.

“The students literally cheer when I walk in the room because they love the activities we do,” Walton says. “Getting a grant is a lot of work, but it has been worth it.
